Behind the scenes with zen chicken painting
This gestural chicken is a meditation on a confused state of illness. In response to a recent illness I reached for vermilion, my favorite color, to get in touch with my inner turmoil and to promote healing. After the initial vermilion action painting I went into the drawing with a layer of action graphite and finally action sepia ink. The DaDa eye is the last step, a rubber stamp in archival ink that signifies insight. The three layers of action took me to my current healthy state. Thank you zen chicken for the therapy.

I hope this zen chicken will give you a sense of spirited power in your own strengths and the power of art to heal.
